India has some of the greatest engineering schools in the world, and it is regarded as producing some of the best engineers in the world. Even so, many engineering graduates have trouble obtaining work. Only a small percentage of engineering graduates are successful in getting work in their field, while others are forced to settle for other jobs.

Currently, a growing number of engineering graduates chose to work in the defense, maritime, and finance industries. Furthermore, only 6% of engineering graduates are being recruited by leading IT firms. In this article we will discuss the highest paying engineering professions in India.

1. Computer Science Engineering

Electronics manufacturing, R&D, and innovation in India are exceedingly weak, and the chemical, electronics, textile, biomedical, instrumentation, and aeronautical engineering disciplines are unable to generate sufficient employment possibilities. This stream has exploded in popularity during the previous decade. Doing courses will help you answer the question of how to get job after computer science engineering.

MNCs hire IT engineering graduates; freshers can expect to earn between Rs.2.4 lakhs and Rs.1 crore per year. IITs, on the other hand, get paid a stunning Rs.1 crore per year when they work for huge IT companies like Google, Twitter, Oracle, and Facebook, among others.

2. Mechanical Engineer

Metal, steel, car, mining, and forging are all heavy industrial businesses in India. All of these fields require a steady influx of new engineering graduates. The leading employment for mechanical engineers include railways, shipyards, heavy-engineering, defence forces, mining, metro rail corporation, and national highways.

Mechanical engineers also play a key part in the IT sector, as they are knowledgeable with manufacturing and production processes and can develop and build ERP solutions. After completing their B.Tech, Mechatronics Engineers can work in R&D or the manufacturing sector of a manufacturing organisation. Mechanical engineers can expect to earn between Rs.1.8 lakh and Rs.5 lakh per year as a beginning salary.

3. Civil Engineering

There is a common misunderstanding that civil engineering is not as lucrative as other vocations. Site engineers, architects, and supervisors are required for all rail, road, and water supply projects, and civil engineers have a wide range of work options.

Civil engineers in India earn between Rs.3 lakh and Rs.5 lakh per year as entry-level employees in the construction business. According to the most recent industry studies, a civil engineer’s compensation increases by 53 percent by the middle of his or her career. A prospective Civil Engineer needs to be proficient in “MS Project.”

4. Electrical Engineering

It’s an excellent career choice for those who appreciate the idea of creating electrical equipment and power systems that are used in everyday life. Electricity boards, power plants, metro rails, state and central-run power sector enterprises including NTPC, Railways, and Defense forces, SAIL, PGCIL, DRDO, ONGC, and BHEL all offer excellent job opportunities.

Electronic, electrical, and instrumentation engineers have an equal number of career prospects in the industrial and aviation industries. Electrical engineers can expect to earn between Rs.1.8 lakh and Rs.4.5 lakh per year as a beginning pay.

Conclusion

Job-seeking engineering candidates should have a long-term objective and focus on learning current-generation skills such as Machine Learning and Data Science. Engineers can also aid themselves by studying basic academic textbooks, increasing aptitude and logical reasoning, and improving their English communication abilities.
