Content is king on the Internet. Search Engines reward content-driven websites, especially those that have unique content and are updated regularly, handsomely (in that they rank these sites high up in the search engine rankings). If your blog is based on the subject area that you have an affinity in, then you should not encounter any problems in writing these contents yourself. These contents can be of many forms, and each of these forms has its own value, as well as their own uses, and will benefit your readers in different ways.
Table of Contents
What I will be sharing with you today are 5 blog content ideas that you can consider…
1. How-To Posts
In “How-To” posts, as the title suggests, you can provide a step-by-step guide on carrying out something – Whether is it solving a problem, creating something from scratch, etc. Some examples can be how to sign up for a web hosting service, how to potty train your cat effectively in 3 simple steps, etc.
2. Review Posts
In “Review” posts, you can review products, services, etc. What you can do here is that you can review particular products that you think people in your niche will be interested in. For example, if your blog is about digital photography, what you can do is to create review posts to review the latest digital cameras (making sure you review just one camera in one single post), and at the end of the post, you can provide them with a link to purchase the camera (this is where you can make money by putting in your affiliate link).
In your review post, do make sure that you not only state down the plus points about the products or services, but you need to also state down the negative points as well (it is only by stating down the negative points about a particular product or service can a post be called a review post, as nothing is perfect in this world).
3. Opinion Posts
In “opinion” posts, you can share with your readers your own personal opinion in reaction to a certain piece of news that just happened in the subject that your blog is about.
For example, if you have a blog that is dedicated to the latest technology gadgets, you may want to have a post to talk about your opinion on the latest iPhone 4 – Such as your personal opinion about this up and coming cell phone (at the time of writing Steve Jobs has just done a public demonstration of the key features available in the new iPhone 4.
4. Video Posts
Once in a while, you may want to, instead of blogging in text form, do a video recording and post it on your blog. That will give your readers a sense of “freshness” – In that content is delivered in a different way.
You do not need to be a professional videographer to post a video blog post – All you need is a simple video camera (such as Flip video, which costs less than $100), point the camera yourself, press the record button and you can start talking away. After you are done with it, all you need is to press the stop button, upload the video and you are done!
5. Personal Posts
Once in a while, you may want to spice things up in your blog a little by talking a little bit about yourself – Such as what you have been up to recently. By doing so, it will allow you to add a sense of human touch to your blog – And also bring you closer to your blog readers.
