5 Places You Are Likely to Find a Mold Growth
SHARE

No one likes mold growth in his or her house. For one, it looks unappealing regardless of where it is growing and sticking. Moreover, breathing in the spores is bad for your health. It can be especially harmful to those with asthma or allergies. However, the problem with mold is that it is sneaky and warmer places are a beacon to this fungal growth. Getting to them as soon as possible is beneficial for the health of those living in the house and ensures a positive report from a home inspector in Tulsa OK. Therefore, knowing the most likely places to find the fungus is important. Here are five such areas.

Laundry and kitchen

Mold grows wherever there are dampness and moisture. When seals are frequently wet, the kitchen can be a haven for mold growth. The same goes for your laundry room when the appliances are damp and not dried appropriately. Problems can also arise when they are not cleaned regularly. Therefore, be sure to keep dishes, appliances, and areas clean and dry.

Bedrooms

The bedroom is where we sleep and is the last place you need a mold. Sadly, the fungal growth is found in the bed in this room. When your mattress is old with exposure to sweat and dampness, it is a melting pot for mold, especially when combined with our body heat.

Bathrooms

With the most amount of sources of water, our bathrooms are the most vulnerable to mold growth. You can find the fungus between the tiles, around the tub or shower, wet towels, toothbrush holders, etc. To keep this area mold-free, you need to clean the bathroom regularly and keep it dry for the most part.

Basements and attics

Attics and basements are dusty and lack ventilation; two things that attract fungal growth the most. As such, these areas of the house are often a vulnerable target to mold. Any external leaks and piping issues can only make the problem worse. Therefore, the attic and basement need to be clean up as often as possible.

Living room and home office

Lastly, the living room and home office are not the typical areas for mold growth, as they don’t have a lot of damp spots like the bathroom or kitchen. However, if you have plants in these areas, damp AC units, or damp paper, mold can easily start growing. Therefore, keeping an eye on these things is necessary.

Conclusion

Mold growth can be a hassle to remove in a house. However, with regular maintenance and some alertness to damp areas, you can prevent the fungus from infecting your house. Areas like kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, living room, attic, and basement require special attention throughout the year to maintain a mold-free home.
