Rebecca Vallance remembers her first fashion memory which was of a photo of her grandmother at her parents’ wedding. Her grandmother was a very stylish, and elegant woman. She was dressed in a statement forest green cape with feather embellishments around the collar and oversized sunglasses.
Under her cape was a stylish long maxi dress in matching fabric. Rebecca Vallance remembers thinking how regal and sophisticated the outfit was, and how she wore it. Her love of fashion comes from her grandmother.
Rebecca Vallance introduction into the fashion industry was as a young thirteen year old model in Melbourne. She then moved into fashion PR specialising in designer brands before launching her own label in Paris in 2011.
Rebecca Vallance’s first collection was so well received she immediately secured two Harvey Nichols accounts. As her label developed she returned home to Australia and launched the brand where it now has an established following of fans across the country and continues to grow.
After a few short successful years in Australia, Rebecca had her first showing in New York Fashion Week in 2014, quickly becoming one of Australia’s leading fashion exports. Rebecca Vallance has a following of local and international celebrity clients including; Halle Berry, Kate Beckinsale, Sofia Vergara, Sienna Miller, Hayley Bieber, Chrissy Teigen, Kerry Washington, Molly Sims, Joan Smalls, Coco Rocha, Behati Prinsloo, and many more.

Her aesthetic continues to evolve with each season however it always remains strong, yet feminine with a modern twist. Vallance provides ultra-feminine collections with a cool edge. Expect dresses, both floaty, soft styles as well as structure. There is also modern tailoring made from beautiful quality fabrics. As Vallance says herself “Our suiting is for the girl who likes to leave an impression.”
Valence’s piece of fashion advice she’s been given in the fashion industry is that it’s all about the product.
“There has to be a unique reason to buy each and every piece. If I personally won’t wear or don’t love a piece myself then it doesn’t make it into the collection. Also, to be yourself. Authenticity in this industry is vital.”
2020 has brought Valance an exciting collaboration with PE Nation to elevate Athleisure wear. For two Australian fashion labels that recently launched its collaboration, this new look is a result of 2020’s spirit of adaptation and versatility. The brands explain “It meant the shift in routine for many and provided business with ground to rethink future opportunities…” 2020 has cleared the way for an invigorating take on this new category for each of the brands.
With mutual respect and design adoration behind their intention, this fashion force of an alliance represents two brands sharing space and enhancing their identities.Rebecca Vallance is stocked globally at boutiques including Net-a-Porter, Mytheresa, Farfetch, SaksFifth Avenue, Harvey Nichols, Harrods, Lane Crawford, Shopbop and Revolve.
