Last Man Standing: Home Improvement is a fantastic bright and fun read about people who want Curtains Dubai as a severe item for their home. It’s funny, smart, and uplifting.
Lawn in his new front yard
The book opens with Meek looking at the park in his new front yard. He’s decided he’d like to take out the rosebushes and plant a tree that he can admire on rainy days. But that won’t be a problem because Meek has turned down the roses.
Home Improvement Guy
But when he looks up, he sees something on the roof of the shed. He has no idea what the thing is, but he does notice that it appears to be a seven-sided star. He wonders if it was sent by the “Home Improvement Guy” to sabotage him, but then he sees his dog running back and forth between the house and the shed, and thinks that perhaps this isn’t so bad. He begins to try to think of a way to fix it before the dog hears something and starts to sniff the thing.
It seems to be locked, and the dog appears to be trying to open it. He cannot do it. He then sees that the dog is wearing a large dog collar.
So, Meek prunes some saplings and plants them in his garden. He later observes that some of the trees had grown and then turned brown as if a big animal had trampled them. He wonders if this means that he is part of the Home Improvement Tour of America. Or maybe that’s not true.
Some real-life family experiences
One good question, the author answers, and some real-life family experiences give this one an edge. That, and the fact that the author has a great sense of humor!
Now that I’ve mentioned it, here’s a major spoiler alert. It involves a surprise visitor who visits your door from another world. Sorry!
Home Improvement series
The Home Improvement series, including Last Man Standing, are favorites with children. And while there is some violence in this book, it’s nowhere near the explicit language found in other titles in the series. That keeps books from being inappropriate and teaches children to better think critically about what kind of stories they read and how they express themselves.
It’s been more than twenty years since comic books first infiltrated the American youth culture. The good news is that this long-held tradition is now being recognized for what it is — a multi-billion dollar entertainment industry that brings joy to kids of all ages, offering adventure, optimism, and the satisfaction of getting something done. As Henry and William say, “A comic book is an idea that can put into action.
Avoid the series
I’ve heard some parents tell their little ones to avoid the series, because of the controversial subjects it brings up for some people’s minds. That’s unfortunate, as these books offer lots of joy, good times, and fun.
For instance, you learn how to choose wisely what kind of furniture and appliances to buy to turn your “ugly” space into a happy and successful homeowner. You get tips on how to convert your empty house into a garage, or a restaurant, or a home office, or something else you didn’t even know you wanted.
An observation about homes or people
Every chapter ends with some discovery about or comment about homes or people. They learn about famous people (like the Home Improvement Guy) and their homes. They see new inventions, all while still working on their own houses.
One very cool thing that the book does is to provide ways to use virtual reality and mixed reality to enhance the text. One very cool part of the book is they offer some virtual reality applications to help readers “realize” what the book’s environment is like. They create a simulator environment (in the form of a desktop environment), and then they turn their virtual reality goggles on and show the reader all the technology they encounter.
Home Improvement series
The Home Improvement series is different than many books. They’re excellent books. However, the Last Man Standing series is more thoughtful than merely throwing the reader some “hot” lines or a few lines of dialogue that are cleverly disguised to sound like a foreign language.
And I enjoyed reading this book, too, even though I found the Home Improvement series entertaining as well. And if you enjoy books with lots of funny lines and some unexpected situations, you’ll enjoy this as well.
