Slaying doesn’t necessarily have to be expensive. For as long as you know which product to use and how you can slay using drugstore makeup. I decided to do this dramatic black Smokey eyes and Glossy red lip using only drugstore affordable makeup so that I can give you some ideas on what to use, how and where you can get the products! Let’s get straight into it…

Slaying with Black Smokey Eyes

Browse: For my brows, I used the Essence Brow designer pencil and to intensify the brow I also used the Wet n Wild brow kit

Shadow: The fun part!!! I on my crease, I blended in the dark brown chocolate shadow from the Catrice Chocolate Nudes palette. I followed up the crease colour with the shimmery reddish-brown shade from the Beauty Treats Colorparty eyeshadow palette. I used the creamy rose gold shade from the Colour party palette in my crease so that it peaks out from the black I then used the black shade all over my lid applying lightly and building it up. I used the shimmery reddish-brown and black shade for my lower lash line.

Lashes: I applied my fave! Eyelure Volume 101 lashes.

Face

Primer: I primed the perimeters of my nose using the Maybelline Baby Skin pore eraser because I tend to have pores around that area.

Foundation: I applied the Maybelline Fit me the foundation I used the shade 332 Golden Caramel. I blended it in using my beauty blender.

Concealer: I highlighted the high points of my face using the LA Girl Pro Concealer in the shade Medium beige.

Setting: I used the LA Girl Pressed powder in translucent to set the concealer.

Contour: I contoured using the LA Girl pro concealer in beautiful bronze. This almost went wrong very quickly I used a bit too much so my contour looked harsh and I prefer a softer contour even if it is meant to be dramatic. I tried to blend it using a buffing brush but it couldn’t be tamed so I switched to the same beauty blender I used for foundation and this sorted my problem out. So don’t use too much product. I set my contour using the brown shade using the Essence Shape Your Face palette.

Blush: for Blush, I used the Reddish-brown Shade from the Beauty Treats Face powder contour collection palette.

Highlight: for highlighter, I used my gold shade from the Essence All About Bronze palette

Slaying with Lips

For lips, I lined my lips using the Essence Long-Lasting lip-liner in the shade ready for red. I applied the Rimmel Stay Matte liquid lipstick in the shade Firestarter. I waited for the liquid lipstick to dry and then glossed it up using the Essence Shine shine shine Wet look lipgloss in the shade Red Carpet Star.

Hair

For hair, I went for inches and fringe (don’t tell anyone, but I think fringe suits me giggles) I got this wig of Wish.com I really wouldn’t advise anyone to buy from there though it was a traumatic experience

And just like that, Slay! I am ready to take over the day!! I hope you liked this post. I also have a video out on my YouTube Channel if you would like to see me execute the slayage! Please let me know if you would like to see more posts like this and what looks exactly you would like to see.
