Top Wood Boring Inspects That You Should Know About
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

With the correct amount of care, wood can definitely last for a long time. But, there’s one thing that can put your wooden house always at a risk are those pesky little wood-boring insects. Wood-boring insects can be termed as the bane of all homeowners because they can cut through any wooden structure – be it wooden trim, siding or anything else. Some examples of wood-boring insects include regular ants as well as termites. When these insects get access to your wooden structure, they can also cut traversing tunnels through your brick & concrete structures, thereby destroying the entire structural integrity of your home. Thus, to help you know more about them, we are listing some of the top wood-boring insects that you be aware of.

The List Of Top Wood Boring Insects To Be Aware Of

  • Termites

Professional home inspector in Fort Worth states that if you’re planning to buy a house, that specific house should have a certification that it’s free from all kinds of wood-destroying pests, especially termites. Without such certification, you cannot expect to gather financing from a lending company because there will be inherent risks for the lending company.

As a buyer, you’ll always have the option to either opt-in or opt-out of a home inspection service. However, when it comes to termites, it’s a major requirement. That means, if the seller or homeowner cannot provide a certificate that the house is free from termites, then you need to hire a home inspector to complete the inspection process, ultimately obtaining the certificate.

Termites can be extremely dangerous for any home out there, which is why, if your home inspection report detects any trails of termites, then the same should be communicated to the homeowner. The homeowner will then call for an exterminator and thereby clean the house from termites before the actual sale.

  • Carpenter Bees

When termites have already enacted on your homely wooden structures, they tend to leave a lot of small pits, small holes and tunnels, which carpenter bees can easily exploit. These bees tend to make their homes whenever they go, and when they find small pockets of space inside your wooden home, they not only set up their shop there but also invite their large bee colonies.

As a result, the queen bee makes your home her home and thereby continue to lay eggs over time, leading to an increase in the overall bee population. Bees can not only affect your home’s structural integrity but also can affect your overall home environment because they’ll constantly roam around your home and affect your daily lives.

Times like these are when you need to opt for a bee eradication service and thereby free your home from pests.
