The most primary thing your tires ask for to function properly is adequate tire pressure. With a high tire pressure you might make the tires a bit stiff for the road, but with a low tire pressure; strong chances of a flat tire accompany you which is not a good sign for your tires. Develop a habit of checking the tire pressure every week in a cold condition. A cold condition refers to a state where the tires are not driven for 6 hours or so. • Tire Threads

Tire threads are responsible for the safe operation of your tires on a waterlogged surface. Those rubber grooves in your tires are pretty deep when you are using Brand-new Tires. But with constant wear and tear, these grooves get deteriorated and your tire keeps flattening. This is not a good sign for your tires as these grooves channel the water and divert it out of the tires. If these grooves are not there, your tire will slip on a greasy surface. Use the coin method to check the level of your grooves. Stuck a coin in your tire grooves and see the portion of the coin that sets into the grooves. If half a portion of your coin is outside the grooves, then it is time for you to change those tires.

  • Wheel Balancing

Wheel balancing is an act of maintaining a constant load on all the tires. While balancing the wheels the mechanic adds weight on the sides of wheels where there is vibration. What you have to keep in mind is to properly judge the vibration in order to make sure your tires do not divert the load unevenly. Failing this, one or two of your tires will be loaded erratically and you will experience vibration while driving which can eventually affect the health of your tires. Hence, it is important that you perform wheel balancing whenever you feel like doing it.
